about

This was the first piece I wrote while studying my one and only composition subject at uni. I saw this as an important step in my journey to being a composer, so the title simply reflects the instrumentation. I wanted the focus to be on the music, nothing external.

At the time I was fascinated by different kinds of form. I used to write stories which would abruptly jump from one scene to another. This piece is similar. Different sections are juxtaposed, sometimes contrasting fast and slow, sometimes high and low…. at times the contrasts are abrupt, and at other times they are smooth.
